Alton, IL, Antique Store Offers Big Discount Before Closing

J&P’s Edelweiss in Alton

[email protected]

In March, I reported that J&P’s Edelweiss in Alton was closing at the end of October so that owner James Heinemeier could retire.

Well, Heinemeier called this week to say he was still selling what was left of the merchandise in his shop. He shared that all merchandise is currently 50% off. (Huzzah! Treasure hunters rejoice!)

Heinemeier also sells shelves, display cases and other store fixtures and fittings. (If you need book shelves, this is the place to find them.)

If you haven’t been there already – even if you have – don’t miss your chance to score some great collectibles before all the good stuff is gone.

I plan to go back (again) and see if some of the treasures I had in mind before are still available. (I picked up a cute little green glass bowl, a wooden cigar box, and an old Brownie camera on my last visit.)

All transactions are made only in cash or by check (with ID).

Edelweiss by J&P is located at 435 E. Broadway, Alton. Store hours are 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday. Call 618-741-8749 for more information.
