2D Zombies Run Amok in WB’s Night of the Dead Animated Trailer
Night of the Living Dead has been redone several times over the past 53 years, but never quite like this. Thanks to IGN, we now have our first look at the Warner Bros. animated tale. Home Animation of George A. Romero’s beloved 1968 zombie flick. Check out the new trailer below.
The new movie features all the characters fans know and love. But unlike the original, this latest re-imagination will be presented in color instead of black and white. Either way, the filmmakers stick to the classic Romero premise, where a gang of aliens find themselves trapped on a farm surrounded by hungry zombies and must combine their wits to escape.
While we can probably expect a few tweaks, it looks like the film will faithfully recreate a number of key moments, including the opening scene at the graveyard (“He’s coming to get you, Barbara!”)
Additionally, the film features Dule Hill as Ben, Katharine Isabelle as Barbara and Katee Sackhoff as Judy. Other performers include Jimmi Simpson as Johnny, James Roday Rodriguez as Tom, and Will Sasso as Sheriff McClelland. Josh Duhamel and Nancy Travis also round out the cast as Harry and Helen Cooper, respectively.
Jason Axinn directed the film from a new screenplay by John A. Russo.
Animated Night of the Dead will be released digitally on September 21. A Blu-ray / DVD combo pack will arrive in stores later on October 5th.
